Event Recap: Dream It, Believe It, Do It Vision Board Party

Now that the dust of the new year has settled and everyone is back in their usual routines, the UWIB NYC chapter hosted their second annual Dream It, Believe It, Do It Vision Board Party to help UWIB members visualize and manifest their personal and professional goals for 2017.

Each UWIB member was greeted upon arrival and given their choice of seating amongst 4 tables transformed into a vision board workshop. By breaking up into smaller groups, this allowed members to create deeper connections and share their hopes and dreams for the new year. Each table included a variety of magazines from different genres, glue sticks, scissors, poster board and the UWIB Vision Board Worksheet that laid out the following recommended vision board process:

What is a Vision Board?

A Vision Board is a visual representation of what you envision for your life. It allows you to define and clarify your aspirations, reinforce them and keep your intentions focused. You can put anything on the board: where you would like to travel, your ideal career path, the emotions you’d like to feel…whatever it may be!

How to Create a Vision Board:

  1. Cut out visuals from the magazines provided that represent your hopes for 2017 for each of the categories listed below.
  2. Glue them onto your board in any order.
  3. If you are up to the challenge, feel free to select one category that you plan to tackle first and share with the UWIB group.

Categories Included:

  1. Heath & Appearance
  2. Money
  3. Fun & Recreation
  4. Love
  5. Home & Environment
  6. Career
  7. Growth & Learning
  8. Spirituality & Religion
  9. Friends & Family
  10. Emotions

At the end of the event, every member opted to share their board with the larger group. We heard a ton of amazing goals – prioritizing travel, earning a promotion, starting a business, first-time mom goals and much more! The theme across the board was that all members are excited to embrace positive changes and personal development moving forward.

The event also included plenty of nibbles, include cheese and cracks and plenty of wine and water for all. Attendees were encouraged to post about the event using #UWIBVision. Here are some of our favorites!
